Set-neck with Handmade Pickups
This would not only be my first set-neck guitar, but also my first time winding my own pickups.
I followed some PRS templates that I found online to build the guitar, which came out fairly nice! The next one will need a carved top for sure, this one ended up with a flat top of flamed maple.
The pickups were wound with the ability to split the coils. Each pickup has it’s own ON-OFF-ON switch, to toggle between single coil, off, or humbucking. I thought this would be a fun way to avoid using push-pull potentiometers and a master toggle switch.
Overall it served as a good proof-of concept for me to be able to make my own pickups.
